Welcome to Lakes Region Bicycling! Print E-mail

Lakes Region Bicycling is dedicated to providing information about bicycling in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and acting as an advocate for improving conditions for bicycle riders througout the region.

In addition to providing the best directories and listings for bicycle riders in the region, we will also be encouraging local and state governments to create wider shoulders in the region to promote safe bicycling. We believe that wide shoulders all the away around Lake Winnipesaukee and the other lakes in the region will increase the number of bicycle riders, help make the Lakes Region a favorite destination for bicycling - and as an added benefit, we believe it will help the economy of the region.

We also invite everyone to participate in the site. If you sign up for a Free Membership , you can submit comments and suggestions for most of the posts on the site. In addition, you will be able to access and print out special offers from Lakes Region businesses. To sign up, use the left menu or Click Here

The April 24, 2008 issue of the Gilford Steamer featured an article about the launch of Lakes Region Bicycling. If you would like to read the article, use the link below and then navigate to page 5. (Note that this is a fairly large PDF file that requires the Adobe Reader.)

What a difference a few days make. Last Friday I was mountain biking at Gunstock , and today we've got a foot of snow on the ground! So I guess its time to winterize my bikes, dust off my indoor trainer, and break out the skis. Of course, if we get a sudden warm spell, I might still squeeze in a few more rides..

It will be interesting cross-country skiing on the sames trails at Gunstock that I've been riding this year - maybe I'll see some of you there!

During the winter months we'll be working on improvements and additions to the Lakes Region Bicycling web site and we'd love to hear your suggestions and comments. Drop me an email at jim@techra.com.

Happy Holidays to all!
